FOTN & New hair.

Hey y'all. I Went out last night up town for someone's birthday but ended up coming home at the early hour of 1 as it was so quiet, so i got my food and went home lol.
This i what i made my face up with, nothing spectacular as i was working untill 8pm which gave me about an hour to get ready.#

Also i have new hair, my old colour was a faded red and it looked so unhealthy and was in need a new chop, so i've had it cut and coloured to a very warm brown with blond-ish highlights, i'm not too keen on it yet though it didn't turn out exactly how i wanted it it but hey ho nevermind. I am unsure about the blonde highlights, which are very discreet as she put them under the roots so i won't need them touched up at the root when they grow out. Personally i don't think the blonde blends very well with the colour but that might be because i'm not used to it...i don't know.

Holiday Photos..Picture Heavy

Apologies for the lack of updates, just to let you know i'm still here and will continue blogging, just so busy with work and studying. Well anyway, I went to Fuerteventura on the 14th of April until the 24th. Luckily the volcanic ash dilemma did not effect me and my flight wasn't delayed, i'm lucky my flight was on the 14th instead of the 15th as i wouldn't of even been able to go. But i had a fantastic time :D the weather was hot, hotel was beautiful, beach was gorgeous, and it was such a relaxing break. Here are a few photos to sum it all up! Enjoy x

FOTD.

Just a quick post to share my very natural face of the day, i went to pizza hut and a local pub afterwards with the ladies, the sun was shining so i decided to wear something bright, wear my gladiators and wear light dewy make up.

As you can see the make up is nothing special just very natural and boring- on the eyes i just used eyeko's mascara.

Face:
Mac studio sculpt foundation
Nars laguna for contour
Mac blush creme in lady blush
Soap and Glory 'bright here bright now instant-radiance energy balm' as a highlight

Lips:
Barry M lipgloss No.4

Oh and not forgetting my gladiators! (please excuse the crusty toes lol)
On my nails i'm wearing Revlon 'tropical temptation'

Retro swimsuit

Next week...the 14th of April I am going on holiday to Fuerteventura and have been eyeing up this gorgeous retro swimsuit for a long long time now. I am into retro inspired garments and accessories, gotta love the old pin up girl look! I have never seen anyone wear one of these swimsuits when being on holiday as alot of people wear bikini's so i thought i would go for something different on the beach or by the pool. I was thinking 'to buy or not to by' but eventually took the risk and ordered - which i have to say was a great decision.

This is the actual model photo of the swimsuit which i ordered from the website.

& i have to say i actually LOVE it! The price at first i thought was a bit too pricey just for a swimsuit being £59.50, but as soon as i opened the mail and tried it on i was in love! It has the perfect fit, with rusching on the stomach area to flatter any flab and i just love the cherry print and halter neck tie. It is extremely confortable and is also double lined to avoid it going see through when wet. I cannot wait to wear it on the beach!

This is the packaging it came in, i think the simple bag with the ribbon is so cute and i can simply slip it into my suitcase without worrying of anything spilling onto it or pulling the material.

And this is the actual costume out of the bag...so cute!

The picture does not do the swimsuit justice! If you are wondering i purchased this (myself) from www.forluna.co.uk and have to say the service is fantastic! It was despatched very quickly and was delivered two days later!

What are your thoughts on these style of swimsuits? Would you wear one on holiday? Or is it just me who is strange and thinks she is living in the old times lol!

Thanks for reading <3

My hair history

I know you are probably bored of the hair history malarkey as quite a lot of bloggers have already done it but i find them interesting to see change in hair styles and decided to jump on the band wagon *yay*.

My natural colour is a sort of medium/light ashy brown ( i think) i dye it so i kind of forget but yes i feel that it is boring *sigh* and it doesn't do anything for me!
If i had my natural hair colour from when i was little i would be quite content now to maintain it as it was a rich sort of reddy brown which went golden in the sun, but now it just looks grey :(.

Unfortunately i don't have a pic atm of my hair when i was young on my laptop but will *add one later*.

Ok lets start, as i can't find a pic of my natural hair colour without any colour on it you will just have to imagine a lifeless brown shade lol. This picture is when i had blonde highlights put through, in high school i always went through stages of having highlights and then i dyed it dark brown and it looked awful on me, then it faded to a minging green/yellow colour lol and i think i just grew it out and then i had more highlights until i appeared to be pretty much blonde all over.

In the first pic (sorry i look like some tacky slut trying to pose) haha this is just half a head of blonde highlights on my natural hair colour,so you can kinda see it poking through.

And from this i gradually got blonder and blonder...

I really liked my hair like this but it was hard to maintain with going to the hair dressers to get my roots done every month or so as it grew out so fast. I had it like this for about 3 years..

UNTILL....

BAM!

I turned into a full blown brunette, which i hated at first because it was so dark and i looked so pale and urgh, but then it just grew on me n started to suit me. It eventually faded and went like a light chocolate brown and i enjoyed being a brunette, but then i still wasn't satisfied...so what did i go and do then?...

I died my hair RED!

I wanted to do this for a while so i braved it and went for it, Mother wasn't impressed! But then she got used to it. I loved this colour but it was so hard to maintain it just kept on fading and then went a horrible pinky colour so i just put a brown over it and now my hair is currently this...

Still a tad bit reddy, but more of a reddy brown so it's not too 'IN YO FACE!'.
Looking back on my hair history i miss my blonde hair :( and want to go lighter for the summer! Have you ever looked back at pictures of different hair colour/style and wanted it back?

Thanks for reading :)

REVIEW:Sun Laborities Dark Lotion

Out of all of the fake tans i have ever used which are St.Tropez,Fake Bake, St.Moriz, Loreal, Johnsons (list could go on). This self tanning lotion is an amazing discovery of mine. After searching online for a good fake tan that doesn't smell awful and is very dark i came across this little beaut, a girl wrote on a review that it is the most darkest fake tanner she has used. At the price of around £20 you may think it's quite pricey but i bought this in July last year and i still have just over 1 full body application left.

The colour i use is 'dark sunsation' which is the darkest of them all, the darker the better baby! The consistency is thick lotion which blends like a dream, i do advise wearing latex gloves when applying this and applying it to each hand one at a time. The lotion is dark so you can see where you have applied it to which is very helpful. As for the smell, i love it, it's like cherry almond and Battenburg. I do advise that you wait atleast one hour after applying before you come into contact with water to avoid any streakiness

Over a few hours this develops into a very olive dark tan, the colour that i would go in the sun after being in the Carribean for a week. Infact when i have worn this customers at work have asked if i have been on holiday and i'm like 'no it's just fake tan' they have been gobsmacked that such a natural dark even tan can be achieved out of a bottle.

Out of this bottle which is 8 FL oz i would say i have used it about 12 times and that is for all over my body, so it works out approx £1.50 for an all over tan which is perfect! (sorry Cba to use my maths lol).As I am running out i am definately going to purchase another. It can be found anywhere on the net.!

P.s i bought this with my own money, it is an honest review, just thought i would share this little beaut!

Weak, limp, lifeless hair? Here is the answer!

Then look no further than these badboys which are the Babyliss thermo-ceramic heated rollers which retail for about £29.99. I discovered these baby's from my Mum, she purchased them a few years back and put them into my hair once for a night out and i was so impressed with the results i have been using them ever since. My hair was so volumised consisting of humoungus lightweight curls that were natural looking. Someone even asked if it was my own hair haha. Here is a few pictures of various occasions when i have put these in my hair.

My verdict: If i were to give these rollers a mark out of 5 it would be 4.5! I think they are amazing and have lasted about 2 years now and me and my mum use them quite a lot. The only down side is which is likely to occur with any heated rollers is they take about 30 mins to heat up properly but i suppose you could do your make up whilst waiting and also they can burn your neck when hanging from the bottom of your head but to avoid this i put tissue underneath to prevent this from happening as it hurts lol!

Overall fantastic way to getting voluptous hair!

How to : polka dot nails

As polka dots are one of the trends for this summer i wanted to try something new with my nails and this fantastic idea sprung to mind. I have seen polka dots almost everwhere this season in the shops which completely win me over as they are so cute!

Here is a picture of how i got on in designing my nails, i know they are not perfect with the dots not being the same size but i've have a lot of complements on this work of art and questions on how i achieved them.

Tutorial

All you need is two nail varnishes of any colours that contrast with eachother & a top coat if necessary.

I used Collection 2000 Hot looks Fast dry in '29 Big Hair' and trust me this nail varnish does dry fast and is really good value for its money.

For the white i used Barry M nail paint in 'Matt White'.

& a piece of paper which i put the white nail varnish on so i could dip the tip of the pen in for the dots.

Now on to how I apply the dots, i know this sounds ridiculous but i used the tip of a biro pen and it worked fantastic, you can however use a nail tool which you would probably find easier but i got along fine with just a bog standard pen.

Step 1: File nails into desired shape and apply a base coat if required

Step 2: Apply 2 coats of your chosen nail varnish, mine being the red.

**Wait for it to dry completely**

Step 3 On your paper add a blob of your nail varnish which you want to use for the dots (in my case white)

Step 4: Get your nail dotter/pen and vertically dip it into your nail varnish so it is evenly covered.

Step 5: Apply diagonally over the nail or randomly but i found doing it diagonally made the polka dots appear to have the same width.

This process took me about 5-10 mins (not long at all really for snazzy nails) so try them out and be on trend in the nail department!
